OHSAA football playoffs: Listen to podcast with Kenston coach Jeff Grubich, QB Parker Gdula

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — The Kenston Bombers made school history this playoff season.

The Bombers will make their first back-to-back playoff football appearance. After a successful 7-3 season, Kenston will open the playoffs with a matchup against the defending Division III state title winners in St. Vincent-St. Mary.

That game will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. at John Cistone Field in Akron.

On Tuesday, Kenston coach Jeff Grubich and sophomore quarterback Parker Gdula spoke with cleveland.com about their second straight playoff appearance, the trifecta of Gdula, running back Pedro Volasco and wide receiver Drew Weninger, and facing the defending state champions.

The Bombers went 7-3, losing to Solon, Chagrin Falls and Aurora.

If Kenston wins, they will play the winner of No. 4 West Geauga and No. 5 Poland Seminary.
