GENERAL

We have begun to schedule college visitations for the fall months. College reps from both state and private, Ohio and out-of-state colleges come to KHS to talk to interested students. The list on the Guidance bulletin board is updated frequently. Check the list and if you are interested in attending to learn more about a certain college, sign up in Guidance. Students may leave class with the teacher’s permission. Limit your registration to no more than six college visits. Stop in Guidance for more information.

Freshmen class officer applications are available in the main office and guidance office. Applications must be completed and returned by Monday.

Attention Seniors: Friday, August 22nd is the last day to register for the September 13th ACT.

How would you like to be part of an underground sports ring? Well, with Kenston Underground Bocce Ball League now you can be. Our season begins Friday, September 5th. Register with KCE by calling 543-2552 or online at www.kenstoncommunityed.org. See Mr. Segulin if you have any questions.

Ever wonder what it’s like to be part of the coolest club at Kenston? Then become part of the Kenston Underground Unicycle League, ‘Cause it’s cool to be part of K.U.U.L. GUIDANCE

The junior class officers will meet on Monday, August 25 in room A119 during homeroom. All officers must attend!

Are you interested in raising your SAT score by 100 points or earning a high score on the PSAT National Merit Scholar Test? Kenston Community Education is offering a SAT/PSAT preparation course beginning September 2. The course is six weeks long and is taught by Mr. Koltas and Mr. Marchesi in the KHS library. Registration forms are available in room A119, in the guidance office, and on the KCE website.

Students who turned in their applications for French Club Officers, please come to Mme. Wahl’s room on Monday, 8/25 during homeroom for a planning meeting.

NHS packets from eligible students are due by Thursday August 29th.

Interested in joining Envirothon or the Envirothon recycling team? If so, attend a meeting on Monday during homeroom in Mrs. Moone’s room, B130.

Attention all students interested in attending the Kenston Computer Coding Club this year. Please meet in Mr. Mason’s room (C136) after school on Thursday for a decisive discussion regarding this year’s club schedule. If you cannot make it on Thursday but still want to have a say in our schedule, talk to Mr. Mason as soon as possible. Thanks!

ATHLETICS:

Our Girls Golf team is a nominee for the JJ Huddle/ Bucknuts Ohio High School team of the week award. This award is decided by fan vote, so all students and staff are encouraged to vote! Voting is live and will conclude at Noon on Friday. You may vote as often as you like. A link to vote is located on the KHS homepage.
