Presale tickets for the football game against Chagrin will be available during lunch blocks in the cafeteria and in athletics after school on Thursday and Friday. Please buy in advance to avoid the long lines!

Picture retakes are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 2 from 10-1 in the AB Room. Also, the aerial photo for all seniors will be on Oct. 1 during homeroom. Seniors will need to make other arrangements for their homeroom meetings that day.

Bomber Games is almost here! Sign-ups for basketball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and volleyball will take place the week of September 29th-October 3rd. All teams are co-ed and each student may participate in only one sport. Please stop by Athletics or the cafeteria during your lunch block to sign up.

Students seeking volunteer opportunities should check out the updated Volunteer Blue page of the KHS website. From the Home Page, click Parents, or Our Community and then click Volunteer Blue where you will see a number of local organizations in need of help from students just like you.

Journalism Club Members: there will be a meeting Monday in Mr. Novak’s room (A111) to discuss progress on assignments and plan for coverage of homecoming week.

Attention all Envirothon members, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, September 30 after school in Mrs. Moone’s room, B130. All who are interested in helping out with the float are encouraged to come!

Principal’s Leadership Council applications are available in the guidance office for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. They are due by Monday September 29.

There will be a meeting for all Trimester Band, students who are not currently in marching band, on Monday in the band room during homeroom. Mr. Link will give you all information about the upcoming season at this meeting.

The Pulse Writing Club’s next meeting is Tuesday, September 30th, from 2:30-3:15, in Ms. Joyce’s room, Rm. A113. All creative writers are welcome to join us. See Ms. Joyce if you have any questions.

Homecoming is just around the corner! The homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, October 11th from 7:00pm- 10:00pm in the KHS cafeteria and gym. Homecoming Dance tickets will be on sale for $15.00 Tuesday, September 30th through Friday, October 10th. Tickets will not be sold at the door! Stay tuned for more details!

Attention Student Council members and officers…we will be having student council meetings every Monday and Wednesday during homeroom from now until Homecoming in Mrs. Leone’s room (A110)! Plan on attending…if you ever can’t make it to a meeting, see Mrs. Leone! New members are always welcome.

Speech and Debate starts TODAY with an informational meeting at KMS in room 108 with Ms. Burton. Come on over and check out what speech is all about and how it can help your chances to get into the college of your choice! Admissions officers and scholarship committees love seeing academic extracurriculars on your resume!

Join the fun every Tuesday Night starting October 2, from 7:00-9:30 at the Auburn Town Hall to share your talents! We are looking for Children, teens and adults to showcase their songs, dancing, poetry, comedy, musical instrument ability, juggling, and or any other talents that they wish to perform and share. Spectators are welcome. There is a $2 admission fee at the door. Register your act for free at KCE or come out and watch! Hope to see you there!


LEAF will hold 2 free sessions for high school seniors and their parents regarding the College Admissions Application process on September 24, 2014 at 6:30 PM and October 1, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the LEAF Resource Center, 8221 Auburn Road in Concord. College Admissions Representatives from various types of schools will address all of your questions regarding the college admissions process, including procedures as well as common mistakes students make on college admissions applications. Representatives from Case Western Reserve University, John Carroll University, University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Lake Erie College, and Lakeland Community College will serve on the panel. The panel will differ on each date. Please register online at www.leaf-ohio.org or call LEAF at 440-358-8045, to reserve a seat.

Several colleges are visiting this week: Friday, Lake Erie College is here at 10 a.m. and Denison University from Granville visits at 11:15.AM. A representative from Kent State University will be here on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 8 a.m. in the AB Room. Sign up in Guidance. Alfred University from New York visits Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. in the Guidance Conference Room. And the College for Creative Studies in Detroit (CCS) visits the art room A102 at 10:50 on Sept. 30. Then Wed., Oct. 1, MICA (Maryland Institute of College of Art in Baltimore) visits the art room A102 at 10:50. Also, St. Vincent College from Latrobe, Pa. is here at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, Thiel College from Greenville, PA. is here at 10:30 in Guidance. Sign up in Guidance if you are interested in attending any of these visitations.
