IMPORTANT PACK Meeting for Monday with Mr.Hesse also PICTURE DAY!!!

There will be a French Club meeting in the Cafeteria on Wednesday, September 24 during homeroom! Everyone is welcome!

All-Sports Senior Night is Friday, September 26 for senior athletes from boys & girls cross country, boys & girls golf and girls tennis. Your written bios are due in the athletics office by Monday, September 22. Invitations with event information, including the tear off bio forms, are available from your coach or in the athletics office.

The next Spanish Club meeting will be held after school on Tuesday, September 23 in Senorita Verbic’s classroom, room C216.

Attention all track athletes. There will be a brief meeting with Coach Ickes during homeroom on Monday. Meet in the auditorium. Please attend if you are interested in track.

Attention Student Council members and officers…we will be having student council meetings every Monday and Wednesday during homeroom from now until Homecoming in Mrs. Leone’s room (A110)! Plan on attending…if you ever can’t make it to a meeting, see Mrs. Leone! New members are always welcome.

It’s Speech and Debate Time! Our first official meeting will take place on Friday, September 26 at 2:30 in Ms, Burton’s room at Kenston Middle School. Anyone who has any interest in public speaking, acting, arguing politics, or just being part of a super fun academic team is encouraged to join us. Come see what speech is all about!


LEAF will hold 2 free sessions for high school seniors and their parents regarding the College Admissions Application process on September 24, 2014 at 6:30 PM and October 1, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the LEAF Resource Center, 8221 Auburn Road in Concord. College Admissions Representatives from various types of schools will address all of your questions regarding the college admissions process, including procedures as well as common mistakes students make on college admissions applications.

Representatives from Case Western Reserve University, John Carroll University, University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Lake Erie College, and Lakeland Community College will serve on the panel. The panel will differ on each date.

Students – are you interested in a part-time job? Check the job board across from Guidance for new postings. Also, there’s several opportunities for volunteer service posted on the Guidance window. Currently, the Geauga Department on Aging is asking for volunteers to help senior citizens in the area during fall clean-up days. Gain community service hours while helping seniors who can no longer take care of their yards remain independent and live in a safe, clean environment. Call 440-279-2129 or 2130. Several colleges are visiting this week: Tuesday, Sept. 23, the University of Cincinnati is coming at 8:30 and Syracuse University at 9:30. Wednesday, Sept. 24, Miami University of Ohio visits at 11:30 and Otterbein University is here at 1 p.m. Thursday, Elon University from Elon, N.C. is coming at 10:15. Friday, Lake Erie College is here at 10 a.m. and Denison University from Granville visits at 11:15. Don’t forget to check the Guidance bulletin daily for updates. Sign up in Guidance to attend all presentations and get a pass.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors: United Way of Geauga County is looking for students willing to participate in a wonderful opportunity to give back financially to your community. If you are interested in helping improve your community and being part of a great cause-see Mrs. Detwiler in the guidance office for an application and further details.
