Attention Student Council members and officers…we will be having student council meetings every Monday and Wednesday during homeroom from now until Homecoming in Mrs. Leone’s room (A110)! Plan on attending…if you ever can’t make it to a meeting, see Mrs. Leone! New members are always welcome!

Kenston is the first school participating in the local Nissan dealers’ “Throw Like Johnny” scholarship promotion. This promotion is taking place THIS FRIDAY before our game against Brush on the practice field near Tailgate Mania. Only students in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate. You must register online and only the first 75 registrants will have the chance to win a $1,000 college scholarship. Please read the promotional posters located around the building for registration information.

Senior class officers will meet during homeroom on Wednesday, Sept 10, in the AB Room

There will be a Business Club Meeting for anyone interested in joining on Wednesday, September 10 in Room 223.

Do you write song lyrics or poetry in your free time? Are you someone who has been told by teachers and family that you have a fantastic imagination? Then the Pulse Writing Club welcomes you! This creative writing club will meet on Tuesday, September 16, in Ms. Joyce’s room, Rm. A113, from 2:30-3:15. All creative writers are welcome to join.

Attention all student drivers, please make sure your parking permits are displayed on your vehicles. Students who do not have a permit will be assigned after school detentions. When purchasing your permit in the main office, please have your driver’s license, insurance card and a check for $25 to KBOE.

There will be a meeting for anyone interested in being a part of the auditorium tech crew on Weds Sept 9th during homeroom. Meet in the auditorium. See Mrs Wirthwein with any questions.

Do you like food? How about hanging out with friends and learning a little something? Come to Spanish Club on Tuesday September 9th in Mrs. Scola’s room, C215, for some fun and culture. All are welcome, no matter how much Spanish you know.

PSAT REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, SEPT 12. Registration forms are in Guidance and on the Guidance page of our website. Tests are pre-ordered. Don’t miss the registration deadline. This test is given only once a year – Oct. 15, 2014. ‘

COLLEGE VISITATIONS BEGIN MONDAY, SEPT. 8 – Tuesday, Sept. 9 – Gannon University from Erie, Pa. – 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 – Baldwin-Wallace University visits at 8:30 a.m. and Friday, Sept. 12 – The University of Colorado at Boulder is here at 10 a.m. and the University of Kentucky is here at 1 p.m. If you’re interested in learning more about any of these colleges, stop in Guidance to sign up. Check the College Visitation schedule on the Guidance bulletin board regularly for upcoming visits.

Attention all students – Do you need service hours? Do you like to work with younger children? Big Brother Big Sisters are looking for students willing to work with Kenston students in the middle and intermediate schools. Applications are available in the guidance office. All applications are due to Mr. Kimpton by Friday,September 12th.
