This weekend the Middle School will be performing their upcoming musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” The middle school performs a musical annually, but this year features some unique aspects. Members of Kenston Center Stage, the High School’s Drama Club, have played major roles in assisting this year’s Middle School musical. Many of the students from both buildings have teamed together to create something special for the community and their peers. The collaboration of the students creates a unique atmosphere that allows them to shine. Jenna Blackburn, a sophomore, has played the role of choreographer for this year’s production. Along with Jenna, many other high school students will be assisting the production during tech week (occurring this week) and during the weekend performances.
“I have truly enjoyed the opportunity to help with the Middle School’s show. I’ve had a blast and believe the cast members have also enjoyed the experience. It was a cool idea to have high school students play a bigger role than normal in the show,” Jenna Blackburn said.
The family-friendly musical features two alternate casts of KMS students. Performances are Friday, February 6 at 7 P.M. and Saturday, February 7 at 1 P.M. and 4 P.M. The performance will occur in the Robert A. Lee Auditorium in the High School. Tickets will be sold for $10 at the door.
