After being nominated by his coach, Mr. Grubich, Jeremy Wyers accepted the Student Athlete of the Year Award for the Cleveland area this weekend. He was first invited to a dinner at Maggiano’s with the seven other finalists, and had a live interview over the phone with the hosts of ESPN Radio. He won the award due to his exceptional success in both school and sports. Jeremy said, “All of the students were very smart, but I am honored to be the winner of the award.” Jeremy suffered for six months with Compartment Syndrome in his right leg. Some doctors believed that Jeremy would never be able to run or play football or basketball again. It was a miracle when Jeremy was back on the basketball court in only six months. Jeremy is a great asset to Kenston High School’s academics and athletics, and will continue by attending The Ohio State University in the fall.
