Spring sports are already starting up! The teams have worked hard all winter to get in shape and prepare for their seasons, and it looks like Kenston will have some very successful teams this spring.
The boys and girls lacrosse teams have both begun their games already. Boys lacrosse defeated Cardinal Mooney on Tuesday, March 24th (14-2) and will have their next game on Saturday the 28th. Girls lacrosse had tough losses against Green on the 23rd (13-12) and Rocky River on the 25th (13-3), but have a game Friday the 27th for a chance to get their first win!
“We had some really good games this week and although we didn’t come out on top, we came together as a team and I know we will do great things this season,” said senior girls lacrosse player Becky Parker.
Other spring sports have been successful in pre-season scrimmages, but have not yet begun regular season play. Boys baseball will have their first game on April 7th against Aurora and girls softball will play at Orange on April 8th. The track teams will have their first meet on April 4th at Crestwood. Also, boys tennis has their first meet on April 7th against Cuyahoga Valley Christian.
Senior baseball player Ben Princic said, “We have been working hard and after a successful scrimmage against Berkshire we are ready for our spring trip and the beginning of CVC action. I hope to see a ton of fans come out to support after spring break!”
Good luck to all the springs sports teams this season! Go Bombers!
