KHS Speech is proud to commend Cassie Holub on her outstanding Rotary Club 4Way speech that she delivered on Tuesday at the weekly meeting. Congratulations to Belle Puckett who won the four way speech competition in a tough field of competition. Belle will represent Kenston when she moves on to the next level of competition on April 11.

College Credit Plus Intents for the 2015-16 school year are due TODAY, March 27, to be submitted to the state. Anyone interested in the program must have the forms to Guidance by tomorrow. After that date, you will be required to enroll under Option A with all tuition fees, books and costs the student’s responsibility. Review the program on our website under Guidance.

Attention all French students who will be in at least French 3 next spring! There will be a parent/student meeting for the Trip to Martinique during Spring Break 2016 on Tuesday, April 7 at 7p.m. in the Auburn Bainbridge Room.

Attention Seniors: If you registered to vote it may take a few more weeks before the Geauga County Board of Elections sends out cards verifying your voting precinct. If you want to double check that you are registered then call (440) 285-2222 and ask if you are registered. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED by APRIL 4th to Vote MAY 5th

There is still time to register for the April 1st 6:30 PM LEAF Junior Jumpstart session. Hear about the college application process: How and when to apply for admissions and financial aid. Senior year timeline will be presented. The program will be held at the LEAF Resource Center at 8221 Auburn Rd., Concord, OH. The French are coming! The French are coming! If you would be interested in hosting an exchange student from July 7 to July 28, please see Mrs. Wahl in room C-217 before spring break!

The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers who are able to perform physical labor, moving and lifting boxes approximately 30-35lbs each, for several hours on any or all of these dates: Tuesday April 7, Wednesday April 8, and Thursday April 9. GUIDANCE:
*A two-week summer institute at Cleveland State is available to all high school students. Students interested in health and medical professions can apply online through March 27. The CHAMPS program runs June 15-26. Details at www.csuohio.edu/CHAMPS (case sensitive).

*Creative Artists Association Annual Portfolio Competition SCHOLARSHIP is available for any student planning in majoring in art education at college or an art school. Portfolios must be DROPPED off at Wildwood Cultural Center in Mentor from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 20 through NOON on April 24. CDs may be mailed or delivered to arrive no later than April 23.

*The University of Dayton offers Summer Honors Engineering Camps June 14-19 or June 21-26 and Women in Engineering Summer Camp July 12-17. For more information, see Guidance.

*Students who are interested in pursuing Creative Careers and considering a college of art and design may be interested in Cleveland Institute of Art’s pre-college summer residential program. Open to all high school students, to focus on one of 11 art programs including animation, biomedical, identity through print, 3D modeling, art and design, game design, glassblowing, graphic design, illustration, industrial design and painting. *Volunteers are needed for the Geauga Spring Clean-up Days!! You and your friends are invited to help clean a senior citizens yard. Many senior citizens can no longer get out to rake, weed, or clean up yard debris. By volunteering your time, you would make a huge difference to a senior citizen and allow them to live in a safe, clean environment. Generally, volunteers are assigned close to their homes to make the most of their volunteer time. The kick-off for this worthwhile event will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Individuals or groups who can help, please contact Bob Debevits at 440-279-2130. More information is available in Guidance.
