Kenston senior captain Anthony Hajdu blasted a grand slam home run and senior Nathan Blake added a 3-run home run in the 1st inning, launching Kenston to a 18-8 victory over Perry at Kenston HS. After spotting the Pirates a 2-0 lead in the top half of the 1st, the Bombers erupted with 11 runs in their half of the 1st, keyed by the big hits by Hajdu and Blake. Kenston out hit Perry 15-5, led by senior captain Peter Rozman, senior Mitchell Lyon, senior Anderson Ellis, and sophomore Barret Weber with 3 hits apiece. Kenston’s Hajdu drove in 4 runs, Blake 3 runs, with junior captain Adam Bush, Lyon, Rozman, and Weber all driving in 2 runs apiece. Perry’s Mark Hocevar collect 3 RBI, while Tom Somogyi and Nick Koman each drove in 2 runs each. Bush scored 4 runs for the Bombers. Kenston improves to 2-0 and 2-0 in CVC play, while Perry drops to 0-3 and 0-2 in CVC action.
