Kenston senior Anderson Ellis hit a clutch one out, 2-run double to tie the game in the 7th, and junior Jimmy Artale then singled home the game winning run, leading the Bombers to a 8-6 victory over Perry at Perry HS. Kenston rallied to score 5 runs in the top half of the 7th inning, with 6 hits, keyed by the big hits by Ellis and Artale. Senior captain Peter Rozman started the comeback in the top half of the 6th inning, with a home run blast, his first of the year. Kenston out hit Perry 12-8, led by Artale with 3 hits, and Rozman, junior captain Adam Bush, and senior Mitchell Lyon with 2 hits apiece. Perry was led by Somogyi and Martin with 2 hits apiece. Kenston’s Ellis and senior captain Anthony Hajdu each drove in 2 runs, while Perry’s Somogyi knocked in 3 runs and Zaletel 2 runs. Hajdu started on the bump for Kenston going 4 and 2/3 innings before being relieved by Rozman, who picked up his first win of the season, striking out 7 Perry hitters to close out the game. Kenston improves to 1-0 and 1-0 in CVC play, while Perry drops to 0-2 and 0-1 in CVC action.
