Congratulations to Belle Puckett who, after winning the Chagrin Valley Rotary Speech Contest, just competed in the District level Rotary Speech Contest where she made it into the top 5 of all competitors and earned an honorable mention! Belle was invited to present her speech at the State Rotary Meeting on the 25th of April. Well done Belle.

Attention students planning on participating in College Credit Plus next school year (including courses offered here at KHS): Keep in mind that the fall application deadline for most colleges is May 1st. Please be sure to check the college’s website for application instructions and be sure to bring to the guidance office any forms you need to be completed–this is your responsibility. See Mrs. Detwiler with any questions.

Mr. Ray’s AP English III students are invited to attend review sessions for the AP exam that will be given May 13. Review sessions will be held before and after school on Thursdays beginning 4/16

Principal’s Leadership Council meeting has been moved to next Tuesday, April 21st. Same time, same place.

Golden Living Center in Kirtland offers a FREE 11-day State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) class with hands-on practice and testing all on site. Once you complete the course and successfully pass the Ohio STNA test, Golden Living has a job for you.

On April 2nd famous buildings all around the world lit up blue to show their support for Autism Awareness month! KHS CEC is celebrating our own Light it Up Blue day on Wednesday, April 15th! We encourage everyone to wear blue and help show your support of autism awareness month on Wednesday April 15th!

Attention Writers! The Geauga Park District 20th annual NATURE WRITING CONTEST is underway and deadline is Monday, May 11. The contest accepts poetry and prose entries in three age groups: 11 and under, 12-17 and 18 and over. There are cash prizes and Chapbooks for the winners. Pre-registration for AP Exams will be held for Seniors on Monday, April 13th during homeroom in the Auditorium. Be sure to bring a #2 pencil with you.

This is a great opportunity to save money on your order, AND your tux will be delivered right here to the school! No standing in long lines. Only cash or credit card will be accepted.

PROM is right around the corner, and will be held at the Signature of Solon on Saturday, May 2. Tickets are $55 each and will be on sale during the lunch block beginning Monday, April 20, and concluding Friday, April 24. Guest forms need to be completed and approved before you can purchase a ticket. Sign-ups for table seating will also be available.

Attention all freshman. The class officers are doing the Glow Run Saturday, July 25. If you are interested in doing the Glow Run then contact Trey Petrella. We will have meetings in the upcoming weeks

*Register now for the Ohio Forestry Wildlife and Conservation Camp held June 7-12 at Camp Muskingum in Carrollton. This co-ed residential camp is open to 9- through 12th graders who are interested in Ohio’s forestry, conservation, wildlife, tree identification, ecology and more. *Creative Artists Association Annual Portfolio Competition SCHOLARSHIP is available for any student planning in majoring in art education at college or an art school. Portfolios must be DROPPED off at Wildwood Cultural Center in Mentor from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 20 through NOON on April 24. CDs may be mailed or delivered to arrive no later than April 23. Paper applications are in Guidance.
