TODAY:  Gentlemen! American Commodore Tuxedo will be here during the lunch block on Thursday, April 16 to take your prom tuxedo order. This is a great opportunity to save money on your order, AND your tux will be delivered right here to the school! No standing in long lines. Only cash or credit card will be accepted.

TODAY: Mr. Ray’s AP English III students are invited to attend review sessions for the AP exam that will be given May 13. Review sessions will be held before and after school on Thursdays beginning 4/16

Students interested in running for a CLASS OFFICER position should obtain a campaign packet from the main office, guidance office, or download one from the KHS website – Student Life page.

STUDENTS! There will be a FREE VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR for the state of Ohio April 20-25 ONLINE. Log on now to register at www.collegefairsonline.com and click on the students tab BEFORE the fair begins. Any time during April 20-25 you can log on and get information from many colleges. There will be a question and answer session at each booth from college reps.

Attention students planning on participating in College Credit Plus next school year (including courses offered here at KHS): Keep in mind that the fall application deadline for most colleges is May 1st. Please be sure to check the college’s website for application instructions and be sure to bring to the guidance office any forms you need to be completed–this is your responsibility. See Mrs. Detwiler with any questions.

Starting MONDAY:  PROM is right around the corner, and will be held at the Signature of Solon on Saturday, May 2. Tickets are $55 each and will be on sale during the lunch block beginning Monday, April 20, and concluding Friday, April 24. Guest forms need to be completed and approved before you can purchase a ticket. Sign-ups for table seating will also be available.

TUESDAY: Principal’s Leadership Council meeting has been moved to next Tuesday, April 21st. Same time, same place.

Business Club is sponsoring a Capture the Flag Tournament April 20th through May 1st.  8+ people per team.  Admission is $5 per person.  For more information or to sign up see Mr. Kepreos or a member of Business Club.

Attention all freshman. The class officers are doing the Glow Run Saturday, July 25. If you are interested in doing the Glow Run then contact Trey Petrella. We will have meetings in the upcoming weeks

*Any seniors planning to work in healthcare – there’s a great opportunity for you to kick start your career.
Golden Living Center in Kirtland offers a FREE 11-day State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) class with hands-on practice and testing all on site. Once you complete the course and successfully pass the Ohio STNA test, Golden Living has a job for you.

*Attention Writers! The Geauga Park District 20th annual NATURE WRITING CONTEST is underway: deadline is Monday, May 11. The contest accepts poetry and prose entries in three age groups: 11 and under, 12-17 and 18 and over. There are cash prizes and Chapbooks for the winners. *Register now for the Ohio Forestry Wildlife and Conservation Camp held June 7-12 at Camp Muskingum in Carrollton. This co-ed residential camp is open to 9- through 12th graders who are interested in Ohio’s forestry, conservation, wildlife, tree identification, ecology and more. *Creative Artists Association Annual Portfolio Competition SCHOLARSHIP is available for any student planning in majoring in art education at college or an art school. Portfolios must be DROPPED off at Wildwood Cultural Center in Mentor from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 20 through NOON on April 24. CDs may be mailed or delivered to arrive no later than April 23. Paper applications are in Guidance.
