Aurora’s Matt Carpenter had 3 hits and scored 4 runs leading Aurora to a 12-7 victory over Kenston at Kenston varsity high school field. With the win, Aurora sweeps the season series from Kenston and positions the Greenmen as the strong leader to claim the CVC title. Aurora out-slugged Kenston, outhitting the Bombers 12-8. In addition to Carpenter’s 3 hits, Ben Stawicki also collected 3 hits, while Andy Weber and Josh Andexler each had 2 hits for Aurora. For the Bombers, senior captain Adam Bush stayed hot and led the way, with his 4th straight multi-hit game. Carpenter and Weber each drove in 3 runs for the Greenmen. Kenston’s junior Matt Shell drove in 3 runs, and senior Tyler Rendlesham plated 2 runs. Andexler started on the bump for Aurora and picked up the win; senior Ben Princic started for Kenston and picked up the loss. Aurora improves to 5-2 and 4-0 in CVC play, while Kenston drops to 3-6 on the season, and 2-2 in CVC action.
