Kenston senior captain Jimmy Artale hit a 2-run, bases loaded single, which proved to be the game winning runs, leading the Bombers to a 7-3 victory over Tallmadge at the Beat Cancer Classic at Kent State University Field. Kenston freshman Mathew Pecoraro sealed the victory for the Bombers in the top-half of the 4th inning by lacing a 3-run homerun down the right field line. Kenston and Tallmadge each had 10 hits in the game. Pecoraro, junior Evan Starling, and senior Sam Obringer had 2 hits apiece for the Bombers. Tallmadge junior Ben Pratt had big game with 4 hits, while senior Matt Noel and freshmen Jared Burick each had 2 hits. Pecoraro drove in 4 runs, while Artale knocked in 2 for Kenston. Senior John Rensel drove in a pair of runs for Tallmadge. Kenston sophomore Christian Cassaro picked up his 1st win of the year in relief, while freshmen Stephen Szczesniak closed the game out for his 1st save. Freshmen Scott Seeker started on the bump for Tallmadge and picked up the loss. Kenston improves to 7-6 overall, while Tallmadge drops to 8-8 on the season.
