TODAY: A college rep from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh will visit KHS on Friday, May 8 during all lunch blocks in the cafeteria. Anyone interested, stop by the table for more information.

SATURDAY: LEAF will be holding a Freshmen Session on Saturday, May 9th at 10:00 a.m at the LEAF Resource Center for high school freshmen and their parents. We will discuss what freshmen can be doing to prepare for their college education, and what other opportunities are out there for underclassmen. Please register for your session online at www.leaf-ohio.org, or call (440) 358-8045 to reserve a seat. Reservations are required, capacity is limited. The sessions are free. Parents are encouraged to attend with their student.

SATURDAY: Attention Freshmen and Sophomores! The fall 2015 PSAT is redesigned and new. Get a sneak preview of what to expect this October. There will be a national FREE PRACTICE PSAT test given on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at Case Western Reserve University, 10900 Euclid Ave, Cleveland. Scores come back within two weeks. Bring #2 pencils. This is a great opportunity to experience this test with no obligations.

VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS: Attention all students interested in playing volleyball in the fall: there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 12th immediately after school in the cafeteria. Summer activities and schedules will be discussed.

GIRLS SOCCER: Attention all students interested in playing girls soccer in the fall: there will be an informational meeting for students AND parents on Tuesday, May 12th at 6:00 in the Auburn/Bainbridge Room.

There will be an important Spanish Club meeting in Senorita Verbic’s class 216 on Wednesday, May 13th. We will be nominating and voting for class officers for next school year.

First Semester ART STUDENTS need to stop by the ART ROOMS to pick up artwork that was in the district art show!!!!

From the Spanish Club: Thank you so much, Kenston High School! We raised $635.00 for children in Nicaragua because you bought so many bracelets!

Those students interested in going to the Caribbean island of Martinique in the Spring of 2016, please see Mrs. Wahl ASAP in Room C217 for some great news to share and to sign up for a fundraising opportunity.

*Attention Writers! The Geauga Park District 20th annual NATURE WRITING CONTEST is underway: deadline is Monday, May 11. The contest accepts poetry and prose entries in three age groups: 11 and under, 12-17 and 18 and over. There are cash prizes and Chapbooks for the winners.
