Sophomore captain Tyler Mintz made a sensational game saving catch in right center field to end the game leading Kenston to a 6-5 victory over Beaver, PA at the Cocoa Expo in Cocoa, Florida. The Bobcats rallied in the bottom half of the 7th inning, and had the tying run on 3rd base, when Beaver clean-up hitter Alec Berg drove the ball from closer senior Stephen Szczesniak deep to right center. In a full sprint, Mintz laid-out while securing the ball and the victory for the Bombers. Kenston out-hit the Bobcats 11-5, with senior Matthew Pecoraro leading the way with 3 hits, while junior Jason Vasil had 2 hits. Kenston sophomore Chase King plated 2 runs for the Bombers; Beaver’s Vinny Mastrangelo drove in 2 runs for the Bobcats. Kenston senior starter Ryan Kammer started on the hill, going 4 shutout innings with 7 K’s, while picking up his 1st win of the season. Kenston improves to 2-0, while the Bobcats drop to 0-2 overall.
