We all know dogs as mans best friend but they are so much more than that. There are countless studies proving how beneficial dogs are to us. Not only are they insanely cute and cuddly, they can also help out with more serious problems. Dogs are much smarter than we think, they are able to understand our emotions and sense if something is wrong. They can help decrease symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and bipolar disorder. Our canine friends also help us by increasing our exercise. Studies have shown that dog owners are far more likely to meet their exercise requirements than someone who doesn’t own a dog. Companionship is one of the things that help define us as people and dogs provide that companionship we need. Most pet owners talk to their critters and even use them to help work through problems. Dogs live in the moment, which means they don’t worry about what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow, they can help you be more mindful and appreciate the joy of the present. Dogs are amazing and we will never stop loving them as much as they love us.
