In December, of 2017, the dance team traveled to Orlando, Florida, to perform pregame at the Citrus Bowl! The team enjoyed spending time in the Disney Parks and making friends with other dance teams. In June, the team went to UDA camp at Oakland University, and they won a superior trophy that came with the opportunity to perform at the Citrus Bowl. The dancers decided to take the opportunity and started to fundraise for the cost of the trip. They sold calendars where the community had the chance to win a prize every day of October. Also, the team had fundraisers at Chipotle and Cowboys. At the beginning of December, the dancers were sent the choreography of the routines to learn to get ready for their performance. Towards the end of December, the team left for Pittsburgh and flew to Florida the next day. The girls went to three practices while they were in Florida and spent time in the Disney Parks. On January 1st, the dance team performed pregame in front of 57,726 people. “It was fun performing in front so many people,” said dancer McKenna Sawyer. The trip came to an end on January 2nd as the team flew home and returned to school the next day. This was an amazing experience for the whole team and the dancers would like to thank their supporters for helping them reach their goal.
