JV Boy’s Soccer blows out Brush 5-1 to improve to 6-3-1 and 3-0 in the Western Reserve Conference. It started off rough with an own goal by Kenston. Kenston dominated possession throughout the whole game. Tommy Roche (#1) had the equalizer later in the first half. In the second half of the game, Tyler Mesnick (#4) scored a goal off a corner kick. Late in the game with about 5 minutes left, Will Smith (#7) scored another goal followed by Max Fromson (#22). These goals were followed by Tommy Roche for his second goal of the game to make the score 5-1.
The JV Boy’s Soccer team was very excited with this blowout and are hoping to continue this physicality in their future games. Kyle Quinlan (#21) has something to say about their game.
Can you break down the events that led to the own goal?
“They played the ball down the left side and crossed it in, the striker took a shot and David Rosinski (#0) made a really nice save. The ball bounced around the box then I went to clear it and it went in the goal.”
How do you think Kenston played against Brush?
“We went ham, everyone had a chance to score.”
This was a good game and very well played by the boys. They can bring this momentum to their next upcoming game against Willoughby South. This game will be at the Willoughby South High School from 5:30 – 6:00.
