Jon Tomcufcik knows he doesn’t have to be perfect as Kenston’s quarterback, but his play through seven games is flirting with that mark anyway.
Tomcufcik is coming off a stellar performance in the Bombers’ 42-14 win over visiting Riverside on Oct. 5, a game in which he completed 21 of 22 passes (95 percent) for 259 yards and three touchdowns. His lone incompletion was just off the fingertips of a receiver on a deep post pattern that would have given him more than 300 yards passing and four touchdowns — and a 100 percent completion ratio.
For the season, Tomcufcik is 104-for-141 (67 percent) for 1,545 yards, 15 touchdowns and no interceptions.
On a college football passer rating formula, that checks out to a quarterback rating of 191.69. For comparison’s sake, Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins has a quarterback rating of 190.80.
Through it all, Tomcufcik is as cool about his play off the field as he is on it.
