Kenston High School is going to be featured as the High School of the Week on Q104 next week. The morning show crew will be here on Tuesday, September 3rd to visit and film footage for their show. Let’s show our Kenston Pride by wearing your Kenston Gear on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Attention students! The Spanish Club will have its first meeting Wednesday, September 4 during homeroom in Mrs. Scola’s room! We do great things and want you to join us! Come check us out!

Bocce Club Information: The Bocce clubs are starting soon! Bocce club starts after Labor Day on Friday, 9/6 and costs only $3/week. Both clubs are also looking for officers! Sign up with Kenston Community Education asap!

SENIORS, REQUIRED VACCINE: All seniors are required to have proof of the meningococcal vaccine on file in the clinic PRIOR TO the beginning of the 2019-20 school year. By state law, students will not be allowed to stay in school longer than 14 school days unless proof has been received on all required immunizations. Note: students who had the first dose prior to age 16 must have the second dose before entering 12th grade. Documentation can be a signed note from the physician’s office or an immunization summary printout. Proof must include the month, day, and year of the dose. Deadline: Thursday, Sept. 5th. *Students will not be allowed in the building after September 5th.

Picture Make-up Day: Tuesday, September 24th in the Band Room.

Senior Yearbook Photo: All seniors should plan to take advantage of the FREE session for Senior Picture for the Yearbook on Tuesday, Sept. 24th (10–1:00 PM, Band Room). Ripcho will be here to take a complimentary, professional picture—sorry, you cannot purchase this picture, it is for the yearbook only. Senior portrait specifications for other Photographers: Size—no less than 300 dpi. Pose—only traditional full color portrait, head and shoulders only. Background—must be on the spectrum from cobalt to navy blue (no light blue). No hats, props, hands or inappropriate clothing. Submit your photograph electronically by email attachment to: justin.fodor@kenstonapps.org or on a CD. Under no circumstances will a senior portrait be scanned from a print. The Kenston Academy will be available after school in “The Hub” Monday-Thursday from 2:20-3:20. No need to sign up, just come in! No meeting on Thursday, August 29th.

GUIDANCE NEWS:

College visits will start next week and run through November. Representatives from both Ohio and out-of-state colleges come to KHS during the school day to meet with interested students. A list of college visits is in Google drive. Students must register to attend these visits through their Naviance accounts. An email was sent to students a few weeks ago. Students will then receive a pass the morning of the visit in their class. Visits last 30-45 minutes, and students are requested to register for only ones they are interested in, limit 5-6 visits.

Watch the bulletin board outside Guidance and listen to morning announcements. Copies of the visits are available in Guidance.

LOST & FOUND ITEMS: Please stop by the Main Office if you have lost something or if you have found something that someone has lost. Our drawers already have things from this year– jewelry, planner, sweatshirts and more. If you lost something that hasn’t been found yet, fill out a form so we can notify you when it’s found!
