The air was crisp but the action on the field was hot. At least for Kenston.

In this 62nd installment for the “Battle of 422,” the Bombers beat Chagrin Falls, 55-0, on Sept. 6. If the Kenston football team’s first two games of the 2019 season are what’s ahead this year, Bombers football fans should get ready for another run deep into November.

Behind a strong offensive performance that totaled more than 450 yards, Kenston moved to 2-0 on the season and kept their eight-game win streak, which dates back to last season, intact.

After forcing a three and out on Chagrin’s first possession, Kenston only needed three plays to go 39 yards in a drive that was culminated by an 8-yard touchdown run by Ja’Von Middelton. That would be the only scoring that Kenston would need on the night. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the Bombers were not close to being done.

After the first quarter the score was 20–0.

Kenston only needed two plays to start the second quarter as Joe Tomcufcik connected on a 14-yard fade pass to Ryan Miller.

The Bombers increased their lead to 33–0 on a 14-yard run by Porter, who finished the game with 130 yards. His total kept his consecutive 100-yard rushing streak alive. A two-point conversion reception by Anthony Velocchi made the score 35-0.

After getting the ball back yet again, Kenston scored on a 9-yard touchdown pass from Tomcufcik to Jonathan Abbarno.

The Bombers amassed 355 yards of total offense in the first half while opening up a 41-0 lead.

The second half, which was being played with a running clock, saw Kenston open the scoring on an 8-yard run by Tomcufcik. The extra point was good making it 48–0. Tomcufcik threw three for three scores and ran for another.
