The boys golf team is off to a 8-2 record, 8-0 in conference play. They placed 4th out of 13 teams in the KIT Invitational with big performances from the seniors Adam Farrell and Robert Sunderhaft, each shooting under 90. The team’s only other loss came from an outing against Gilmour and Revere where they fell to Gilmour by one stroke. The boys golf has cruised through conference play with their closest win being by five strokes. The team has yet to play undefeated Mayfield, whoever wins will determine who will be the WRC champions.
Senior Robert Sunderhaft said that one of the biggest reasons for the team’s success was that “We have had a lot of underclassmen stepup big this year and play really well. This also assures that we will be a really good team in the future.” Some of the underclassmen that stepped up were the sophomores Jack Maglietta, Maximilian McNeal, and William Pollack, all of whom have earned a spot on the varsity roster. Junior Nathan Gaskins has also made a big impact on the team consistently being one of the top performers.
