This past spring, over 1.6 million students across the United States took at least one AP exam. Out of those 1.6 million students, around 200,000 of them earned the award of AP Scholar with Distinction. Forty students from our school qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of the exams. I talked to senior Jason Hildebran about how he prepared and what his most challenging exam was. “I looked over all my notes that I took and then I quizzed myself on the various topics. My hardest exam was probably AP Physics.” Doing well on one AP exam is not something to be taken lightly, as they are designed to be like challenging college courses. Taking that even further, scoring well on at least five exams is a true accomplishment and something to be proud of. On the other hand, to earn AP Scholar with Distinction, prospective students would have to prepare for countless hours for each exam to score as well as they did. All this preparation goes to show how much work and dedication needs to be put in in order to earn this prestigious award.
