Welcome to Start with Hello Week! During this week we encourage all students to say hello to all students and maybe make some new friends. Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely or treated like you are invisible. Young people who feel this way may pull away from society, struggle with learning and social development, or choose to hurt themselves or others. Each Day this week PEAK will be letting us know another cultures way of saying hello. While it may seem silly, in Tibet, monks stick their tongues out to greet people. Listen tomorrow for another cultural way to say hello. Students and staff are also encouraged to wear green tomorrow to support Start with Hello and the Sandy Hook Promise.
This week is Start with Hello Week. All week long positive music will be played over the PA in between classes and daily announcements will be made to encourage the Start with Hello initiative. REMEMBER TO WEAR GREEN TOMORROW!
The Homecoming Door Decorating Contest is this week with Block 4 classes. Decorations should be homecoming themed – Arabian Nights – or Kenston themed. Judging will take place on Friday after school!
The Homecoming Dance is October 5th! Remember if you plan to ask a student from another school, you must fill out a DANCE GUEST FORM, and get it approved by an Administrator at BOTH schools! FIRST: Your guest will need approval from THEIR Administrator, THEN, then you will need approval from a KHS Administrator. ONLY when the form is complete can you purchase a ticket for your Guest, usually the week prior. Don’t wait until the last minute to get all the signatures needed! You can pick up a GUEST FORM in the Main Office or Guidance. Turn your completed Guest information into the Main Office for a KHS Administrator to approve.
