Boys Soccer Has Good Start to Season
The Kenston Boys’ Soccer team is off to a respectable start this season. The Bombers currently have a record of 4-1-2 after coming off a strong win on Saturday against Eastlake North. The team started the season strong with a win against Warren Howland, who eliminated Kenston from the playoffs last year. Following that victory the Bombers were faced with a few unfortunate outcomes, including the team’s only loss to the Division 3 state runner ups Hawken, and ties against both Avon Lake and Padua. After this unlucky streak the boys were able to win three consecutive games.
The team’s attack has been led by senior captain Nick Astalos who has put up 11 goals so far this season. Nick said, “We’ve been playing some really good soccer and putting the ball in the back of the net a lot and if we continue playing this way we should keep winning and compete very well.” The team has also been led by captain John Pretzlav in defense and Will Sachdeva in goal. The boys will face Wickliffe at home on Tuesday, which will be an important game for the Bombers after coming up short last year with a loss against the Blue Devils.
