Calling All Bombers: Tyler Mintz is in the running for the Plain Dealer’s Top Performers this week. He set a school record for receiving vs. Brush with 231 yards. Use the link on our home page and vote! Voting ends Wednesday evening. You can vote more than once so keep refreshing and keep voting for Tyler!!!!

Jostens will be here this Friday, Oct. 4, to take cap and gown and class ring orders during all lunch blocks in the cafeteria. This is the only in-school order date – after this date, all orders must be placed online. Bring your order form to the Jostens table in the cafeteria. If you are not in school during lunch hours, you can bring your order form to Mrs. Hanzak in Guidance PRIOR to this Friday, Oct. 4. Any questions, see Mrs. Hanzak in Guidance.

Kenston Center Stage is presenting the play Clue. Performances are Saturday, October 12th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm and Sunday October 13th at 2:00 pm. The 2:00 performance on Saturday is ½ price for all Kenston students! These dates are the corrected dates from what was published in the district calendar.

In keeping with the Homecoming Spirit and Tradition, each day will have a theme!

Homecoming Tickets are on sale now! Buy tickets online for $16.50 each or during lunch on Wednesday 10/2, Thursday 10/3, or Friday 10/4 for $15. Don’t forget to have your DANCE GUEST FORM, submitted for approval before purchasing your ticket.

Interact Club would like to wish you a happy National Day of Giving! Celebrate today by donating to Interact’s school supply drive for Cuyahoga County Libraries and the Food Drive going on through October. See Mrs. Brust in A117 for details.

French students (especially those who will be in the AP class this spring) there are a few spots left for the trip to Quebec Over spring break! Please see Mrs. Wahl asap if you’re interested in going!

Attention all writers and artists (and those who love good writing and art)!! Janus, Kenston’s award winning student literary and art magazine, is looking for editors for this year’s issue. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, October 8 at 2:20 in room A119. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Marchesi in room A119.

Help Girls Soccer celebrate Senior Night on Tuesday, October 1st as they take on Chardon! Announcements will take place at the conclusion of the JV game, about 7:15 PM. The Varsity game will begin at 7:30 PM.

Come celebrate the senior Volleyball players as they take on Chardon for their Senior Night on Tuesday, October 1st. Announcements will take place about 5:45 PM and the Varsity game will begin at 6:00 PM.

Join the Kenston Swim & Dive Team! Swim Team tryouts are October 25th @2:45pm at the CVAC pool. Dive team practices start October 25th at Solon High School Natatorium. Final Forms must be completed to participate. Divers also need to register with American Flyers Diving. Please contact Coach KC with any questions: kari.collier@kenstonapps.org

A reminder that the Hub is open for anyone afterschool to get a head start on homework and studying. This also applies to anyone who needs extra help or tutoring through Kenston Academy. Times are Monday-Thursday from 2:20-3:20. No need to sign up, just come in!

Senior portrait specifications for other Photographers: Size—no less than 300 dpi. Pose—only traditional full color portrait, head and shoulders only. Background—must be on the spectrum from cobalt to navy blue (no light blue). No hats, props, hands or inappropriate clothing. Submit your photograph electronically by email attachment to: justin.fodor@kenstonapps.org or on a CD. Under no circumstances will a senior portrait be scanned from a print. Solon Community Center Aquatics is hiring lifeguards after school and weekends. Applicants must be at least 15 and hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate. You may apply without a certification and, if hired, be required to take the certification at no cost through the Solon Community Center. They are hiring staff for summer 2020 now. See Guidance for more information.

Any students interested in doing some volunteer tutoring with the Young Scholars program though Chagrin Falls Park please pick up an application in guidance. You can earn service hours working with this program as well.

Seniors – VFW Chagrin Falls Post is offering an essay contest with a $1,000 prize for first and two $500 honorable mention awards. Essays of 500 words or less on “What Does Veterans Day Mean to Me?” See Guidance for more information.

Protect Geauga Parks offers three $1,000 scholarships for those majoring in natural or environmental sciences. Guidelines are available in Guidance. The scholarship requires an essay and 2 letters of recommendation. The deadline 6:00 PM Oct. 6, 2019.
