Kenston Football is in the running for Channel 8’s Friday Night Touchdown Game against Chardon. Right now we are in 2nd place. Go vote and vote often!

Freshman and Kenston Connect Leaders will be having their Vision & Hearing Screening done today during second block. A proctor will release the freshman classes and passes will be issued to the Kenston Connect Leaders.

REMEMBER – There is no school on Wednesday as we celebrate Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish year. It is a day of atonement after the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah. On this day, people of the Jewish faith ask God for forgiveness for their sins in order to secure their fate.

On a dark and stormy night, six unique guests, plus a butler and a maid, assemble for a dinner party at the home of Mr. Boddy. When their host turns up dead, it is clear that no one is safe! Soon the guests are racing to find the killer and keep the body count from stacking up. Based on the popular board game and adapted from the cult classic film, Clue is the comedy whodunit that will keep you guessing (and laughing) to the very end. Kenston Center Stage is pleased to present Clue Onstage this Saturday at 2:00 pm, Saturday at 7:00 pm, and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $10 each and will be available at the door for all performances. Students attending the Saturday afternoon matinee performance will be admitted for $5 when they present their student ID at the box office.

Please help support Interact by participating in the October Food Drive. Bring any non-perishable items to your first block class, winners will receive free donuts.

French students (especially those who will be in the AP class this spring) there are a few spots left for the trip to Quebec Over spring break! Please see Mrs. Wahl asap if you’re interested in going!

The PACK Meeting is held MONDAY and WEDNESDAY during Homeroom in Mrs. Smith’s room A210.

The Pulse Writing Club is meeting Thursday, October 10th. All types of creative writers are welcome to join Ms. Joyce in room A113 at 2:20.

The Envirothon meeting will be held on Monday 10/14 during homeroom in B130. All that are interested in joining the club are welcome as well!

Attention all writers and artists (and those who love good writing and art)!! Janus, Kenston’s award winning student literary and art magazine, is looking for editors for this year’s issue. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, October 8 at 2:20 in room A119. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Marchesi in room A119.

Join the Kenston Swim & Dive Team! Swim Team tryouts are October 25th @2:45pm at the CVAC pool. Dive team practices start October 25th at Solon High School Natatorium. A reminder that the Hub is open for anyone afterschool to get a head start on homework and studying. This also applies to anyone who needs extra help or tutoring through Kenston Academy. Times are Monday-Thursday from 2:20-3:20. No need to sign up, just come in!

Senior portrait specifications for other Photographers: Size—no less than 300 dpi. Pose—only traditional full color portrait, head and shoulders only. Background—must be on the spectrum from cobalt to navy blue (no light blue). No hats, props, hands or inappropriate clothing. Submit your photograph electronically by email attachment to: justin.fodor@kenstonapps.org or on a CD. Under no circumstances will a senior portrait be scanned from a print. Solon Community Center Aquatics is hiring lifeguards after school and weekends. Applicants must be at least 15 and hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate. You may apply without a certification and, if hired, be required to take the certification at no cost through the Solon Community Center. They are hiring staff for summer 2020 now. See Guidance for more information.

Any students interested in doing some volunteer tutoring with the Young Scholars program though Chagrin Falls Park please pick up an application in guidance. You can earn service hours working with this program as well.

Seniors – VFW Chagrin Falls Post is offering an essay contest with a $1,000 prize for first and two $500 honorable mention awards. Essays of 500 words or less on “What Does Veterans Day Mean to Me?” See Guidance for more information.

Protect Geauga Parks offers three $1,000 scholarships for those majoring in natural or environmental sciences. Guidelines are available in Guidance. The scholarship requires an essay and 2 letters of recommendation. The deadline 6:00 PM Oct. 6, 2019.
