ATTENTION all Juniors & Seniors–if you are not planning on taking the PSAT or SAT exam on next Wed. Oct. 16th, you must have a BACK UP PLAN, for either a College Visit, or a Career Shadowing Day. You DO NOT have to fill out a Planned Absence Form, however, you will have to give an account for what you did on Oct. 10th. You will receive an email with more information.

Seniors: The VFW Chagrin Falls Post Essay scholarship deadline is Friday, Oct. 18. Write a 500 word or less essay on “What Does Veterans Day Mean to Me?” First place: $1,000 and 2-second place winners- $500 each!!! More information is available in the Guidance Office.

You have three chances to see the play Clue this weekend! Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (½ price for KHS Students w/id – only $5), Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and will be available at the door for all performances. Come support Kenston Center Stage!

A reminder for Monday homeroom assembly, classes will be dismissed to the gym at the end of 2nd block to get information on this year’s BomberBash event. On Saturday, Nov. 23 we want to break the record with attendance this year. Be a part of something special that can boost your college resume as well as help contribute to others in need through A-Kid-Again charity. BomberBash is a Blast come out and be a part of it!

All students interested in becoming a member of the Principal’s Leadership Council should sign up in the main office today and Monday. Online applications will be sent early next week to those who sign up. This will look great on your resume!

Please help support Interact by participating in the October Food Drive. Bring any non-perishable items to your first block class, winners will receive free donuts.

French students (especially those who will be in the AP class this spring) there are a few spots left for the trip to Quebec Over spring break! Please see Mrs. Wahl asap if you’re interested in going!

The PACK Meeting is held MONDAY and WEDNESDAY during Homeroom in Mrs. Smith’s room A210.

The Envirothon meeting will be held on Monday 10/14 during homeroom in B130. All that are interested in joining the club are welcome as well!

Join the Kenston Swim & Dive Team! Swim Team tryouts are October 25th @2:45pm at the CVAC pool. Dive team practices start October 25th at Solon High School Natatorium. Final Forms must be completed to participate. Divers also need to register with American Flyers Diving. Please contact Coach KC with any questions: kari.collier@kenstonapps.org

A reminder that the Hub is open for anyone after school to get a head start on homework and studying. This also applies to anyone who needs extra help or tutoring through Kenston Academy. Times are Monday-Thursday from 2:20-3:20. No need to sign up, just come in!

Senior portrait specifications for other Photographers: Size—no less than 300 dpi. Pose—only traditional full color portrait, head and shoulders only. Background—must be on the spectrum from cobalt to navy blue (no light blue). No hats, props, hands or inappropriate clothing. Submit your photograph electronically by email attachment to: justin.fodor@kenstonapps.org or on a CD. Under no circumstances will a senior portrait be scanned from a print. Solon Community Center Aquatics is hiring lifeguards after school and weekends. Applicants must be at least 15 and hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate. You may apply without a certification and, if hired, be required to take the certification at no cost through the Solon Community Center. They are hiring staff for summer 2020 now. See Guidance for more information.

Any students interested in doing some volunteer tutoring with the Young Scholars program though Chagrin Falls Park please pick up an application in guidance. You can earn service hours working with this program as well.

Seniors – VFW Chagrin Falls Post is offering an essay contest with a $1,000 prize for first and two $500 honorable mention awards. Essays of 500 words or less on “What Does Veterans Day Mean to Me?” See Guidance for more information.
