When Kenston High School was built, the sound system in the auditorium was originally designed for lectures not music. For years, people who watch or work on concerts and plays in the auditorium have requested a new system to enhance the experience of the performances. After a very generous donation, Kenston began to take pitches from many sound companies and finally settled on Cleveland based sound company Eighth Day Sound Systems, Inc.
Eighth Day Sound has done work all around the world from cities including Cleveland, Los Angeles, London, Sydney and many more. This company has provided live sound for artists like Beyoncé, Drake, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney and the Eagles. As the new system was set up, the workers showed the stage managers how to correctly balance voices and music with the new sophisticated controls.
Mr. Kenen, a retired Kenston teacher, has selected the new system and has been and is still in charge of the auditorium. He has dedicated countless hours to making sure the sound system is working properly for all plays and concerts Kenston hosts. I was able to sit down with Mr. Kenen and listen to the new speakers in action. The sound quality with the new speakers is amazing and should be a great new addition to the auditorium that everyone is excited about.
