This past Friday, the Kenston Bombers football team played their first playoff game against New Philadelphia. The whole community was ready for round two of taking the Division III Championship Title. Students that did not have a ride to the game could sign up for a free ticket, pizza, and bus ride, provided by Lowe Eklund Wakefield Co., LPA. The Kenston section at the game was deafening, senior Eric Dombrowki says “It was really hard to hear the play calls and communicating with each other was difficult.” The whole game was back and forth. In the fourth quarter, the Bombers went up 28-24 with 4 minutes and 12 seconds remaining on the clock. Senior Frank Dimarco recalls thinking “This is the game.” It was an intense moment for everyone as the Bomber fans cheered. Unfortunately, New Philadelphia scored with 21 seconds remaining, putting them up 31-28. The Bombers went on to drive the ball down the field, but ran out of time. With an upsetting loss against New Philadelphia, the Bombers season had come to an end. Although it was not the outcome that was intended, they still had a winning record of 8-3 and a State Championship Title, with lots of memories.
