Finals week can be the most stressful time for a high school student. To reduce that stress you can use the following things to help prepare yourself. You should start to prepare for finals the week before instead of trying to cram it all in the night before. Most teachers will give you a study guide before the exam. But making your own guide will help you understand the material better than filling in your teacher’s guide. As you are creating your own guide you will figure out what material you understand and what material you do not. During class you should ask your teacher questions about the material you don’t understand so that they can help you learn it. Studying things not on the study guide will benefit you because study guides don’t always include everything that is on the test. They only give you the main idea of what’s on it, studying what’s not on the guide will help you comprehend the questions better. Most importantly you have to take breaks when you are studying because you will burn yourself out and not learn the material. The last and one of the most important things to do while studying is to prioritize your time. You want to make sure that you have enough time to have a life while still having time to study. Otherwise you will end up not having enough time to study for the exam. Mr. Holly from the English department says to, “Drink a lot of Red Bull and have fun doing it”. This is what he said you should do while you prepare for finals. These are the best things that you can do to prepare for your finals at the end of the semester.
