White Christmas

In most states around the country, kids and adults alike can only dream of having sparkling, white snow for the holidays. However, here in Northeast Ohio, that dream can become a reality.

While there was no snow for Christmas last year, 6 of the past 10 years have had some snow on the ground for Christmas. Most notably, our last white Christmas was 2017, where there was between 2 and 4 inches of snow accumulated.

Last year, many people were disappointed as there was some snow early, but warmer temperatures and rain had it all gone by Christmas Day. This year, people are hoping that their yard will resemble a Christmas Card when they arise from their slumber on Christmas morning.

While it is a little too far out to have an accurate forecast for Christmas, some models are beginning to lock in on the possibility of having a winter storm right before, or on Christmas Day. Multiple sites are also forecasting snow before and on Christmas Day, but we can only hope that Mother Nature gives us a picture-perfect Christmas.

Junior Max Reardon said, “I really hope we get one this year because we didn’t have one last year, and it’s not Christmas without snow.”
