The students will be expected to arrive to school by 7:45 a.m. and remain in school until the conclusion of their second exam at 12:15 p.m. If you are picking up your child, please utilize the Main Entrance pick-up/drop-off loop. Lunch will be provided for students who are staying through the afternoon. Teacher-led reviews and make-up sessions will be held until 2:15 p.m. School transportation will be provided on both days at our regular 2:15 p.m. dismissal.

Thursday, December 19th will be Locker Clean Out Day: Garbage cans will be placed in the hallways for your convenience. Boxes will be provided for UNUSED school supplies for donation. Garbage in garbage cans, and Donations in the boxes….DON’T get it mixed up!

Have you ever wanted to study or work abroad? If you’ve already taken Spanish or Russian, there is a French 1 class starting second block next semester! See Mrs. Wahl if you’d like a head start on being a polyglot (or speaking more than two languages.)
Students going to Quebec over spring break…Come to Mrs. Wahl’s room during homeroom today if you’re able.

Calling all writers and artists!!! Want to get your work published in an award winning magazine? Kenston’s nationally ranked literary and art magazine, Janus, wants your writing and art! Please see Mr. Marchesi in room A119 or your Art/English teacher for details. The deadline for submissions is February 3.

Attention 2nd semester 9th grade English classes: Your Summer Reading assignment should be submitted to Google Classroom BEFORE the first day of the 2nd Semester. Please see either Mrs. Leone or Ms. Joyce if you have any questions.

Place your yearbook order by December 31, 2019 for only $65! All orders placed after December 31, 2019 will be $75.

A reminder that the Hub is open for anyone afterschool to get a head start on homework and studying. This also applies to anyone who needs extra help or tutoring through Kenston Academy. Times are Monday-Thursday from 2:20-3:20. No need to sign up, just come in!

Senior portrait specifications for other Photographers: Size—no less than 300 dpi. Pose—only traditional full color portrait, head and shoulders only. Background—must be on the spectrum from cobalt to navy blue (no light blue). No hats, props, hands or inappropriate clothing. Submit your photograph electronically by email attachment to: justin.fodor@kenstonapps.org or on a CD. Under no circumstances will a senior portrait be scanned from a print. GUIDANCE NEWS:

Attention students who need money for college: The Guidance Department has scholarship opportunities for YOU! Stop by and see what’s available. Winter Break would be a great time to work on scholarship essays. Most deadlines are in January.

Ohio Northern University 2020 Summer Music Camp is June 21-26. Open to all musicians grades 7-12 (band, orchestra and choir.) See Guidance if interested.

Attention Seniors – StudentScholarships.org offers 15 Scholarships for Christmas Holidays – apply online – various deadlines from Dec. 16-Jan. 9. Details in Guidance.

Students interested in being a 4-H Camp Counselor this summer at Camp Whitewood, pick up an application in Guidance. The camp runs June 14-19 and deadline to apply is Dec. 31, 2019. Details on the application form.

Mandel JCC in Beachwood hosts an indoor Triathlon and Biathlon Sunday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Student volunteers are needed to help with the kids triathlon. See Guidance for details if interested in earning community service hours.

Having a bad day? Contemplating self harm? Stressed? Suicidal? The Copeline is there to help you with all of these things. Geauga Copeline is 24 hour assistance for anyone with mental health issues for you or a friend. Check out the signs throughout the building. Remember, it’s okay not to be okay.

Congratulations to the Athletes who will be honored for their commitment to play a sport in College!. There will be an “Athletic Signing Day” ceremony in the Aux Gym during homeroom on Wednesday for athletes: Lance Bumbu, Chase King, Garrett Koenig, Jack Porter and George Sell.

LOST & FOUND ITEMS: Please stop by the Main Office if you have lost something or if you have found something that someone has lost. Items not claimed in the Main Office will be moved to the new Storage Bench by the Concession Stand in the Cafeteria.
