The Dive to Olympics

Mary O’Neill Is a senior at Kenston High School who is currently on the path to her fourth state diving competition. I interviewed her today and she told me all about the hard work and dedication she puts in during her two and a half hour long practices which she has seven days a week. During these practices, Mary usually does a variety of lifting, cardio, practice flips on floor mattes, and even some on a trampoline. When she is not in the gym she is in the pool usually practicing the five kinds of dives, front, back, inward, reverse, and twister. Mary is going to North Carolina State to compete at the NCAA 1 level, and is hoping to eventually compete nationally at the Olympics. For now, we can wish Mary good luck at her state competition next Wednesday.

Good Luck Mary!
