On Wednesday, February 12, at 7:00 PM the 2020 KCE recreational basketball draft started. First overall pick went to team 91, who drafted Caleb Moore at number one. There were twelve teams in total, all of which have their own team players from the high school. Overall, everyone did not have a bad draft, some teams being better than others talent wise. I, Cameron Toth, was drafted by the legend Donny Maynard himself. Donny will not be playing but he is the coach of our team. With Donny’s first pick, he chose to draft Justin Ford, a member of the school team. I believe our team has enough talent to win games but we need to build the connection that all teams need to be successful. If we build good chemistry between us, I think we could win it all.
The league is based off of twelve teams of nine players each. The season will consist of seven total games spread throughout February 29 and May 3. Playoffs will take place the weekend of May 16 and 17. Every team will make the playoffs no matter their record. The playoff bracket is a double elimination bracket, meaning if you lose two games, you’re out of the playoffs. I wish the best of luck to everyone in the league.
