As many schools (including our own) start the shift to the digital world again, many are left with concerns on the effects, good or bad, on the students. Online schooling is the reality for a majority of students today. Many teachers have no clue how to use Zoom let alone transition their class structure into an online format. And that’s not even the end of it. More concerns arise such as “How do I get my 10 year old to sit down and pay attention on a screen?” Teachers say the best way to combat this is to try and build a strong relationship with the student as an individual. We also can’t forget that this is a troubling time for the educators and school staff as well. Teaching class through a camera to students at home is no easy feat.
I think that although this is a very troubling time, we will pull through this. This sort of technological evolution to how we do things will most definitely pave a new path for how we do things in the future. Maybe that’s good, and maybe not? Who knows?
