LAST DAY TO DONATE COATS, HATS AND MITTENS! Wednesday December 16th Mr. Anderson’s second block class will be going around collecting items for the Coats, Hats, and Mittens donation for the holidays. Someone in need would appreciate your donations.

LOCKER CLEAN OUT! Attention students, next week on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th there will be a mandatory cleaning out of the lockers before school and between final exams.

THURSDAY: The Math Club and Trivia Club Holiday Party will be at BWW on Thursday afternoon immediately after Final Exams. Party goes from 12:45 pm – 2:30 pm. Please bring $10 to cover food, refreshments and prizes!!

The Third Annual Ohio Unified Theatre Auditions will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Bexley High School in Bexley, Ohio. All senior status students are eligible and you do NOT need to be a Thespian to apply. Some past colleges that were present include: Ashland University, Case Western Reserve, Kent State University, Miami University, Ohio Northern University, Wesleyan University, Ohio University, Otterbein University and Xavier University, just to name a few! ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: Mr. Continenza needs your help! Helpers are needed to edit photos and to take photos on Sunday December 27 and Monday December 28 at the high school (in the AB room). You do not have to have been in Web Design class to help. We will be broadcasting the KIT Wrestling tournament over the Internet. If you can give 3-5 hours either day, please stop by Mr. C.’s room (C213) before break to sign up with Mr. C.

You will get community service hours for your time, free admission to the tournament, food, and most importantly, Mr. C. will be grateful to you for life!

ATTENTION SENIORS! The Geauga Park District is offering six student mentorship positions for students interested in natural sciences. The two-week program coincides with the KHS Senior Project, so students who are accepted – that will be your senior project. Applications are in Guidance and the deadline to apply is January 31. Selected students will be informed by February 6.

Do you love to write? Do you wish you had the chance to do more creative writing than what’s offered at your high school?
The Jonathan R. Reynolds Young Writers Workshop at Denison University, now in its 22nd year, is an 8-day residential summer program that offers a wonderful opportunity for high school students to work intensively with professional poets, fiction and nonfiction writers on Denison’s beautiful college campus in Granville, Ohio. If you’re currently a sophomore or junior, you are eligible to apply. (Note: we do not accept current freshmen.) This year’s program dates are June 12 to 19, 2016. Financial assistance is available to families to those who need it.

Harvard College will be visiting our school on Jan. 13 at 8:30 a.m. All juniors and seniors are welcome to attend to learn more about Harvard. The representative is a Cleveland resident and eager to explain what Harvard has to offer. Sign up in Guidance if interested in attending his presentation.
