District Track Meet Day 1

Congratulations to all the Bombers who competed at day one of the district track meet this Wednesday. Several Bombers competed well enough in the preliminary round to advance on to the district finals tonight at Austintown-Fitch. A few Bombers also scored in the finals for their events. Up first on the track was the 4×800 relay. The Bombers dominated the 4×800 in both the women’s and men’s race. Lucas Simmons qualified for the 100 finals with a solid time of 11.27 seconds. Lucas also won the long jump finals with a distance of 21’11.75”. Will Lauer also did well in the long jump finals placing 6th with his 19’9.25” jump. Will also qualified in the 400 with his 52.26 second performance. Both Braden Hunt and Robert Phillips qualified for the finals in the 1600. Our men’s 4×100 qualified for the finals with their 44.43 second showing. Paige Masson won the 400 prelims in an impressive time of 59.58 seconds. Both Garrett McConnell and Jack Turk comfortably qualified for the 800 finals. Both Kenston teams also qualified for the 4×400 finals tonight. Wish our Bombers good luck tonight as they compete in day two of districts!
