Swim and Dive onto Districts

The season continues for the Swim and Dive team as they compete at districts. After a successful sectionals meet at SPIRE on Friday 2/12, 11 athletes will begin moving on to districts. The Dive team started out the week competing on Wednesday 2/17. Clay Foster and Alex Bayus are competing on the boys team and Courtney Keane on the girls team The Swim team heads back down to SPIRE on Friday 2/19 for districts with girls swimming in the morning section and the boys swimming in the afternoon section. 

The Girls swim team had 3 relays qualify, along with qualifiers in 7 individual events. Lauren Jaroch, Maris McKnight, Emily Evans, and Jenny Kapcio will be competing in the 200 medley relay. Molly Bochenek, Cayla DiBernardo, Leilah Shafer, and Emily Evans for the 200 freestyle relay. Finishing it off for the relays, Molly Bochenek, Cayla Dibernardo, Jenny Kapcio, and Leilah Shafer in the 400 freestyle relay. For individual qualifiers, Molly Bochenek will be swimming in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Cayla DiBernardo in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle. Leilah shafer in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Jenny Kapcio with the 500 freestyle and Maris McKnight swimming the 100 butterfly. 

The boys travel down to SPIRE later that day with their 2 relays and qualifiers in 3 individual events. Starting it off with Joe Dersek, Bobby Delzel, Nick Korenowski, and Kaden Selby in the 200 medley relay. The other relay participating is the 200 freestyle relay with Bobby Delzel, Kaden Selby, Joe Dersek, and Nick Korenowski. For individual events, Joe Dersek will be swimming the 200 IM and 100 backstroke. Nick Korenowski in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. 

With the success the team had at sectional, having 30 lifetime bests, the team is excited for what is to come at districts.
